Home News WBD woman relieved of motor car, vehicle later found in GT
The police are making every attempt to locate a brown-coloured Toyota Carina 212 motorcar that was stolen from a Recht-Door-Zee, West Bank Demerara (WBD) resident on Sunday.
Based on information provided, the owner of the motorcar, a 48-year-old woman, and her 31-year-old brother were driving along the Canal No. 1 Polder access road at about 7:20h when the suspect stopped them and solicited a lift.
On arrival at the Bagotville Junction, the woman parked the car in front of a supermarket and went in to purchase some items with her brother. The car’s keys were reportedly left in the ignition with the suspect seated in the back passengers’ seat.
However, after spending about five minutes in the supermarket, the duo returned only to discover the car missing. The matter was reported to the Police who made checks for the suspect but were unsuccessful.
The vehicle was subsequently found in Georgetown with the assistance of public-spirited citizens.
