WCB man allegedly stabbed by fugitive

A D’Edward Village, West Coast Berbice (WCB) man is now hospitalised after he was allegedly stabbed on Monday last by a fugitive.
Injured is 47-year-old Amert Ramlochan of Lot 18 Section E D’Edward Village, WCB.
Guyana Times was informed that Ramlochan was brutally stabbed by a man who Police have been seeking for some time, and despite their many efforts, their search proved futile.
On the night in question, Ramlochan’s son wanted to use the toilet, which is situated outside the house and he followed him. As he was waiting on his son, he reportedly saw someone behind the house.
The suspect then approached him and began stabbing him about his body.
Upon hearing the noise, the man’s wife, mother, and nephew rushed to his aid and saw the suspect escaping.
He was then taken to Fort Wellington Hospital where he was stabilised and transferred to New Amsterdam Hospital for surgery. He was reportedly stabbed to his left ear, left arm and below the ribs, which ruptured his intestines.
This newspaper was informed that the suspect was positively identified as the perpetrator. The matter was subsequently reported to the Rosignol Police Station, and an investigation was launched.
The man who is accused of stabbing Ramlochan is said to have murdered Feroze Khan also called “Eggy”. Khan was beaten and stabbed to death in August 2019 at Bennet Dam, Rosignol, West Bank Berbice.
It was reported that the now wanted man was at a grocery shop located at Bennet Dam, where he purchased a bottle of water. He left the shop, picked up a piece of wood and ran towards Khan, who was walking on the said street, and dealt him several lashes about his body.
Khan reportedly fell to the ground after the suspect pulled out a knife from the waist of his pants, dealt him a stab and subsequently fled the scene. Khan was later pronounced dead.
Following the stabbing incident, Police had issued a wanted bulletin for the man. He continues to evade Police.
