WCB man beaten, stabbed to death in broad daylight

The Police are on the hunt for a man who reportedly lashed and stabbed a West Coast Berbice (WCB) resident to death on Thursday at Bennett Dam, Rosignol, Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice).
The dead man has been identified as 48-year-old Feroze Khan of Carriage Road, Rosignol, WCB.
Preliminary investigations revealed that on Thursday at about 14:30h, the suspect went to a grocery shop at Bennett Dam to purchase a bottle of water. After collecting the water, he reportedly left the shop and, arming himself with a piece of wood, attacked Khan, who was walking on the said street.
Khan was reportedly lashed to his body with the piece of wood, causing him to fall on the roadway. The suspect then whipped out a knife from his pants waist and stabbed the victim several times before making good his escape.
Upon seeing this, an eyewitness summoned the Police to the scene, and the injured man was transported to the Fort Wellington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s demise are unknown, but the Police have launched an investigation into the murder.
