The Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana (WCCIG) has announced its Board of Directors for 2026, signalling a renewed focus on supporting women-led businesses and fostering innovation across the country.
Under the theme “Sustainable Growth: Building Capacity, Amplifying Impact,” the Board is set to lead initiatives that promote capacity-building, policy advocacy, and greater visibility for women entrepreneurs. 
The 2026 Board of Directors is composed of President and Chair of Advocacy and Governance Committee: Ms. Josephine Tapp, Assistant Manager, B&J Civil Works; Vice President and Chair of Fundraising & Events Committee: Shamela John, Chartered Accountant and Finance Specialist; Treasurer: Kadija Murray, Senior Analyst, Ernst & Young (EY) Caribbean; Secretary: Lisa Mohammed, CEO, Sibs Contracting Services Inc.; Director, Corporate Health Solutions Inc.; Operations Manager, WANSAT Networks Inc; Director and Chair of Membership & Outreach: Shevion Sears, Director, Sears Consultancy Inc; Director and Chair of Communications and CSR:. Ulecia Bishop, CEO, UB Precision Eng; Director and Chair of Training & Development: Rowena Elliot, Office Manager, Blue Water Shipping Guyana Inc.
Two new members join the Board this year, Kadija Murray as Treasurer, bringing expertise in financial management and regulatory compliance, and Ms. Ulecia Bishop as Director of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility, whose management and communications experience will enhance the Chamber’s visibility and outreach efforts.
The WCCIG said the 2026 Board will prioritise creating sustainable opportunities for women entrepreneurs, advancing capacity-building programmes, and advocating for policy reforms to foster a more equitable business environment.
