Home News WCD bus driver denies breaching road service licence
Danraj Remraj, a 38-year-old minibus driver from Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara (WCD), was earlier this month released on $10,000 bail at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court after denying that he was in breach of his road service licence.
Police contended that the violation occurred in the West Demerara district on April 6, 2018 when Remraj operated his BVV 7046 minibus. Presiding Magistrate Christel Lambert adjourned the matter to June 11, 2018 for trial.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) was working with the Guyana Police Force (GPF) in an effort to find some 41,000 drivers that are holders of expired road service licences. Since the announcement, there has been an increase in Police ranks who have been checking the documents of motor vehicle operators.
