WCD man dies in arms of son after complaining of feeling unwell

Fixty six-year-old Vijay Munusami reportedly died in the arms of his son who was giving him a bath on Thursday morning at their home at Edinburgh Squatting Area, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Police have said that ranks at the Leonora Police Station received information from an anonymous caller that a man was seen lying motionless at Edinburgh Squatting Area, WCD.
The ranks went to the scene and made contact with the now dead man’s son, who took them to the house where his father’s motionless body was lying.
Police have said that, based on information received from the son, at about 10:15h on the day in question, the son was giving his father a bath when the father complained of feeling pains about his body. Soon after, the father held on to his son’s arms and suddenly became motionless.
Police have confirmed that late the Vijay Munusami had been a diabetic and an alcoholic who would normally receive treatment at the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH).
Munusami’s body was examined, but no marks of violence were seen. The body was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where he was officially pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Munusami’s body has been taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Home to await a post-mortem. (G10)
