WCD teen robbed by knife-toting bandit

An 18-year-old lad was on Friday robbed at knifepoint along the Ruimzeight, Public Road, West Coast Demerara (WCD), in the process, being relieved of one haversack, a wallet, and $20,000 cash.
Based on reports received, on Friday, at about 7:00h, the lad was standing on the northern side of the Ruimzeight Public Road waiting on public transportation to go to work when the suspect drove up alongside him in a green motor car. Thinking that it was a taxi, the victim entered the front passenger seat of the vehicle, and on doing so, the suspect held him at knifepoint and took away the above-mentioned articles.
Out of fear for his life, the victim exited the motorcar and the suspect drove away.
The matter was subsequently reported to the Police and an investigation has been launched. No arrest was made.
