We have not forgotten about Sinclair, says Harper

Off-spinner Kevin Sinclair has not been selected to the West Indies white-ball squads to tour Pakistan in December. Sinclair, who last played for the West Indies in June 2021 against South Africa, has not been getting opportunities, especially at the regional level.
Sinclair played only three matches in the 2021 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Cricket West Indies (CWI) Lead Selector Roger Harper said West Indies have not forgotten about the 22-year-old Guyanese as it relates to selection to the West Indies team.
“Sinclair, you would have known, was involved in the home series, played a few games, but I think from his perspective and a West Indies cricketing perspective, he did not have enough opportunities at the CPL to really stake a proper claim for himself moving forward.”
In the 2021 CPL, Sinclair had returns of 0-14, 0-11 and 1-31 with the ball. Harper said that the youngster who played six T20 Internationals for the West Indies, has a lot of potential and the selection panel is observing him.
“We certainly have not forgotten about him. He is someone we still think have a lot of potential and someone we can look at going forward. We still have our eyes on him and observing him closely. Players of that nature we would like to see them have greater opportunities at regional level and stake a claim for regional teams,” Harper said in a recent media briefing.
The West have included left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie and Akeal Hosein, along with Hayden Walsh Jr as specialist spinner for the Pakistan tour, while Roston Chase will offer valuable support in the spin department.
