The Department of Public Information (DPI) has released a report in propaganda form in which Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited (EEPGL), an ExxonMobil subsidiary, claims that Ram & McRae (as well as Rams & McRae) are among the “227 local companies and individuals that ExxonMobil has done business with in the first quarter of the year (2018).”
Our records for the last ten years, including the entire 2018 to date, show that Ram & McRae has provided no services to EEPGL or any of its affiliates. Incidentally, Ram and McRae added, “An accounting colleague, Mr. Ramesh Seebarran, indicated to us that he, too, is named, even though his firm has not provided any such services”.
Generously, we would like to believe that this is a genuine mistake, and we therefore call upon DPI and EEPGL to correct the false information, which has led to even more outrageous reporting.
Entirely independent of the EEPGL, Ram and McRae has been providing a range of services to subcontractors of EEPGL and other entities operating in the sector. We are also aware of a number of non-Guyanese firms providing similar services to subcontractors, and these have not been included on the list.
