Welcome change in GuySuCo’s tender process

Dear Editor,
Over the years, prior to Sasenarine Singh assuming position of CEO of GuySuCo, I know that there was an opaque system of tendering in place with tenders having to be submitted at GuySuCo’s Ogle Office. Many times, after tenders were issued and bid for, interested tenderers never heard anything on who a specific tender was awarded to even after making specific inquiries. In those years, GuySuCo’s Tender Board and its Governing Board seemingly made decision on awarding tenders even though there was a National Procurement and Tender Board in place.
Since the new management has taken over, tenders are now submitted through the Ministry of Finance and are now evaluated through NPTAB – a much more transparent process. I am not sure if this important change was initiated by the new CEO, however, this is a welcome improvement in the way GuySuCo does business.

Yours sincerely,
