West Berbice man stabbed to death during argument over domino game
– suspect tells Police victim ran into knife he had in hand
A West Coast Berbice (WCB) resident was stabbed to death on Tuesday during a game of dominoes at Middle Street, Paradise.
The dead man has been identified as Dwayne Byass called “Eddo”, 27, of Golden Fleece, WCB.
Police stated that the self-employed man along with the suspect, a 26-year-old man called “Buck Boy” were at a shop playing dominos during which the two had an argument and a fight ensued.
The suspect reportedly whipped out a knife and dealt one blow to the now dead man’s left side abdomen, after which he escaped.
the injured man reportedly collapsed in the shop and was picked up by his cousin, who rushed him to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Reports are that one wound was seen on the left side abdomen, with the intestine protruding.
However, according to the Police, Nascio Allen, the alleged suspect, made his way to the Weldaad Police Station, where he reported that the victim had attacked him with a piece of wood thus resulting in him defending himself.
He alleged that during the commotion, the now dead man ran into a knife which he was carrying in his hands. As such, he was promptly arrested as investigations continue.
