DJ competition for November 19
Ten top deejays selected from various parts of the country will have a change to showcase their talent on November 19, when the first event Westside 45 Kick Out DJ competition is held at the Leonora Stadium, West Coast Demerara. 
Thirty-seven applications were received and after a preliminary assessment, only 10 were shortlisted to compete in the event which is expected to be grand. These young men are from New Amsterdam, Berbice, Region Six; Georgetown and Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, Region Four; Bartica, Region Seven; and several others from the East Bank and West Bank of Demerara.
The evening is promoted by Slingerz Entertainment and is one of the most anticipated competitions for the year. The winner will receive one Apple laptop computer, one Beats headphone and $200,000 along with the champion’s trophy.
There will also be prizes for the most Hyped Deejay; the deejay with the most fans at the competition and the best dressed deejay.
Music will be provided by Guyana’s number one sound, Slingerz Family. There will also be lots of giveaways for persons who attend the event. Admission costs $1000 and tickets are only available at the venue. The competition will juggle off at 21:00h and is sponsored by 2 Brother’s New Mini Mart, 2 Brother’s Pure Ice, Digicel and Stag.
