Dear Editor,
We, the citizens, have always been told from time immemorial that emergency vehicles with blaring sirens must be given the right of way and easy passage on the roadways.
It is presumed this edict is applicable to all citizens of the country irrespective of their station in life.
Yet, in the media on February 2, 2020, a columnist recounted what was told to him of an ambulance en route to Georgetown not being given the right of passage and the refusal of the Police outriders to allow the ambulance to pass the entourage. Surely an ambulance had to be given some consideration. Where was the compassion?
So, did the outriders break the law in this regard?
