Dear Editor,
An obvious sycophant of the incumbent GuySuCo CEO, in a letter appearing in the July 21, 2022 Guyana Times, shared that the individual was the best leader for the sugar industry. I, however, beg to disagree, and share a completely opposite view.
In assessing the success of a GuySuCo CEO, there are several measurable parameters that one can examine. For me, the most obvious one is field productivity, as sugar is grown in the field and recovered in the factory. The following graph depicts tonnes cane per hectare under the stints of the current and previous CEOs.
The data is clear, the current is the worst performer, though given the most support. All the white noise is irrelevant.
