The events just kept rolling from the start without any break. It was very taxing on the judges and table officials, who ensured a smooth flow of competition.
The parents and spectators had lots to see, as two rings were used for Kata and Kumite (fighting). Adults and Seniors’ events were run early in the programme to utilize the seniors for judging.
The females stood their ground and performed excellently, while the children were very entertaining in their performances. The adults and seniors, also, had high-level performances that held all in rapt attention.
However, the greatest applause went to the para category, for the performance of Jamal Williams who showed that differently-abled people can achieve success in any activity they choose. The people present showed their maturity by their support in loud applause.
The organizers of the tournament would like to extend hearty appreciation to the parents and spectators, hard-working officials, maintenance crews, bar personnel, the referees, judges, the competitors and the YMCA, for assisting in making the event a success.
