Organising Secretary of the Georgetown Domino Association (GDA), Mark ‘Jumbie’ Wiltshire, has teamed up with Shemar Trucking Service to host the Champion of Champions Part 2 Domino Competition, tomorrow at the Green City Restaurant & Bar at Durban Street & Vlissengen Road, Lodge, Georgetown.
At a simple ceremony recently conducted at the company’s premises in Durban Street, Lodge, Managing Director Duean Boston handed over to Wiltshire a cheque for an undisclosed sum in furtherance of staging this domino competition.
According to a release from the organisers, most of the country’s top teams have been invited to participate in the competition, and the total prize money is in excess of $200,000, along with trophies.
Wiltshire, one of the stalwarts of the game and one of the persons responsible for

its meteoric rise in popularity, said a number of teams have been given automatic qualification, including All Seasons, C7, C6, Gold For Money, All Players, Phantom, Turning Point, Gangsta, Mix-up, Spartans, Providence, Thunder, Lions, OPKO, Transport, and Angels among others.
Among those invited are: Bank of Guyana, GGMC, Sunflower, Top Gun, Orange Walk, Strikers, Masters, Rockets, Linden and Bartica.
According to the release, the winning team will receive $175,000 and a trophy, while 2nd and 3rd place finishers will take home $75,000 and $35,000 respectively.
The Most Valuable Player of the Final will be awarded $5,000.
Among the other sponsors on board are: All Seasons Racing Service, Big Boss Trucking Service, and Boston’s Pawn Shop.
All GNDA rules will be in effect, while Bar-B-Cue and drinks will be sold throughout the day.
