– Turbo Football kicks-off tonight

Football in the city resumes tonight when the Turbo Energy Drink Knock-out Football Tournament gets cracking at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.
The first match will pit Guyana Police Force FC against a spirited Eastveldt FC from 18:00h after which the youthful Pele FC will battle the improving Northern Rangers 20:30h.
Matches will continue on Sunday evening with Uitvlught taking on Black Pearl Fc while Grove Hi Tech oppose Santos FC.

In the absence of Western Tigers (yellow), the lawmen will count themselves as strong contenders for the title

The sixteen-team tournament has been split into two groups.
Group A will see Pele, Santos, Riddim Squad, Northern Rangers, Flamingo FC, Eastveldt FC, Uitvlught and Beacons FC.
Group B has Grove Hi-Tech, Pouderoyen, Buxton Stars, Camptown FC, Mahaica Determinators, Black Pearl FC, GFC and Police.
The teams are competing for a first place prize of $500,000 while the runners up will receive $250,000, third place $125,000 and fourth place finishers will pocket $75,000.
Admission to the venue is $500 and it will be the first official use of the recently installed floodlights. The lights were commissioned last Monday by Minister of Education, Nicolette Henry after the project was undertaken by the Perta Organization with the help of local businesses and the blessings of the Ministry of Education.
