Windies bowl off training today ahead of Test series

Ahead of the Windies three-Test series versus the touring Sri Lankans, Cricket West Indies (CWI) has confirmed that the Caribbean side will commence training today, Monday, June 4.

The Windies Senior Men’s team will commence training at the Queen’s Park Oval Ground, Trinidad and Tobago, from 14:00h to 17:00h. Following the training session, pacer Shannon Gabriel and opener Devon Smith will be available for interviews from 17:15-17:25h.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, June 5, there will be an official pre-Test Match press session with the Captain, Jason Holder and Head Coach Stuart Law from 11:30-11:45h.

There will also be a Facebook livestream via the WINDIES Cricket Facebook page on both days for persons interested in seeing the press conference or those who are not able to attend in person.

The CWI President’s XI recently concluded their three-Day warm-up game versus the tourists at the Brian Lara Ground on Friday. The match, which was dominated mostly by the visitors, ended in a draw.

Sri Lanka got some momentum after skipper Dinesh Chandimal warmed up with a century while opener Kasul Perera hit back-to-back fifties while the Windies openers Kieran Powell and John Campbell also showed glimpses of form.

The first Test bowls off on June 6.
