The match was a definite thriller, as Windsor Forest brought their ‘A’ game and were able to defeat the All Stars in a high-intensity low-scoring match by 8 runs.
Windsor Forest lost the toss and were sent in to take first strike. They were able to post only 84 all out in 15 overs, and needed to bounce back as, two Sunday’s ago, they had lost a match against the Canal #2 Sports Club.
However, it would seem that the Lochan team had come to win. They were able to maintain their line and length, resulting in pressure being built on the Windsor Forest team, who were bowled out for a low score.
Top scoring for Windsor Forest was Abdullah Wazidali with 19 (1 * 6) (2 * 4), while Avinash Ganesh’s 10 (1 * 6) and Kishaun Tracy’s 10 (1 * 4) contributed valuable runs to the total.
Bowling for Lochan All Stars, A Daniels took 4 for 16 from 4 overs, and A Khan took 3 for 20 from 4 overs.
Send in to bat, and needing a simple target of 85 for victory, Lochan All Stars were dismissed for 76 in 16.1 overs. This was a definite demonstration of the vicissitudes of fortune, as the game was practically Lochan’s. Windsor didn’t succumb to Lochan because they fought a good fight and found themselves back to their winning ways.
Top scoring for Lochan was A Basdeo with 19 (1 * 6) (2 * 4), while R Daniels’s 13 (1 * 4) and A Daniels’s 13 (1 * 4) were valuable contributions.
In the bowling department, the chief wicket-takers for Windsor Forest were Lalta Suknanan with 3 for 12 from 2 overs; Deendyal Guyadeen with 2 for 13 from 3.1 overs; Avinash Ganesh with 2 for 15 from 3 overs, and Abdullah Wazidali with 2 for 5 from 2 overs.
