Home Sports Winners Connection looking to knock out Shattas, Blueberry Hill tackle Net Rockers
Linden Town Week Football
Two rather interesting matches are set for tonight, when the final set of quarterfinal matches in the Linden Town Week Mayor’s Cup Football tournament are played at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground.
Another large following is anticipated, since, regarding results, the clashes are not as straightforward as one might want to feel.
The first game kicks off at 19.00hrs, and will have the number three-ranked Haynes and Lewis Winners Connection going all out to stamp their authority on their opponents, Silver Shattas. Having edged past Shattas in their last meeting, Winners Connection will field a unit that would have players like skipper Marmalaque Davidson, who is now experienced, and in tandem with Javon Smith and Errol David, should be able to make Connections advance.
However, Shattas will not be push-overs, and with Kellon Major in goal, they have more than a goalkeeper there; while their defence is hinged around Deshawn Freeman, Jonah Simon and Jehu Regis, with Robin Adams on the strike line.
The other game, from 21.00hrs, will see Net Rockers hoping to roll over Blueberry Hill, after coasting past them in the GTT League.
Planning to get past this highly ranked Net Rockers side, Blueberry Hill’s midfield will be led by Mark Liddell, Troy Miller and Orin Scott; while Wayne Wilson will strike and Kelon Neblett is due for a return to duty between the uprights.
The Rockers will look to have their familiar lineup on the field, among whom are gifted players like Orande Wills, Denzil Pryce, Deshawn Joseph and Clarence Huggins.
