Wins for Scottsburg United, No 73 Young Warriors and No 72 Cut & Load

The Trophy Stall at Port Mourant, Corentyne Berbice sponsored the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association’s Under-19, 50-Overs round robin tournament, which continued last Saturday with round 2 of the competition, wherein Scottsburg United, No.73 Young Warriors and No. 72 Cut & Load secured wins.
At No. 73 ground, No. 73 Young Warriors defeated Radha Krishna Foundation Academy by 8 wickets. Batting first, Radha Krishna Foundation Academy were bowled out for 106 runs in 19.1 overs. The innings saw I. Singh top score with 38, and V .Kumar chipping in with 13.
Bowling for No. 73 Young Warriors, Sarwan Chaitnarine bagged 4 for 38, Trevon Sukhu 2 for 28, and Raul Jabbar 2 for 12.
In reply, No. 73 Young Warriors chased the total down, losing only two wickets in the process. Trevon Sukhu took command of the innings in scoring 52 not out, and Vettorie Latchman adding some resistance with 38.
At No. 66 ground, Scottsburg United defeated No. 66 Cricket Club by 25 runs. Batting first, Scottsburg United were bowled out for a meagre 98 runs in 22.3 overs. Rudy Jamalodeen’s 29 and Hardar Budram’s 16 were the top scores. Bowling for No. 66, Jaison Boodhan took 2 for 23.
In reply, No. 66 were outfoxed and bowled out for 55 runs in 18.1 overs. Karan Persaud, 23, Charran Singh, 16, and Jaison Boodhan, 14, showed some resistance in a futile effort.
Bowling for Scottsburg United, Rudy Jamalodeen took 4 for 19, Stephon Norah 3 for 31, and Akhtar Nahar 2 for 2.
At No. 72 ground, No. 72 Cut and Load won by virtue of walkover, only 5 players turning up for No. 48 Cricket Club.
This tournament is organised by the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association and is sponsored by Ramesh Sunich, Managing Director of Trophy Stall, with its new Location at Market Road, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice slated to open its doors for business in January, 2019.
