WIST Ministries International to host Christmas concert
WIST Ministries International will host its 5th annual Christmas production on November 24, at the National Cultural Centre, beginning at 19:00h.
Under the theme “Behold!”, the production will showcase creative presentations from over 50 dancers through a compendium of dance, poetry and song, which aims to share the true meaning of Christmas.
This year’s production comes as part of the organisation’s celebration of its 16th anniversary in service to Guyana’s youth. In recognition of this outstanding service, WIST was a recipient of the 2018 National Youth Award given by the Ministry of the Presidency.
WIST Ministries International was founded in the year 2002 by Sandia Harold-Ramnarine and serves as a conduit for the development of youth through dance and the creative arts. The school caters for students ages five and older and offers a blend of contemporary, jazz and ballet dance style. The organisation also celebrates unity in their service, irrespective of religious or denominational affiliations.
Apart from dance and the creative arts, the organisation places special emphasis on serving Guyana through compassionate giving. WIST has given to various charities all across Guyana and has adopted the Leonard Cheshire Home as their charitable organisation of focus for this year’s Christmas production.
The Leonard Cheshire Home provides a permanent place of residence, giving support and specialised care for persons with disabilities.
Tickets for the 5th annual Christmas production are being sold for $1000 and $1500 and can be uplifted at WIST Ministries International, Pinnacle Business Service Inc (at the Giftland Mall), Fon-Roje, and Roxie’s Fashion. Proceeds from the event will be given to the Leonard Cheshire Home.
