Home News Woman busted with cocaine in mouth remanded
Twenty-one-year-old Ariel Singh of 71 Alexander Street, Kitty, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Renita Singh at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court after she was allegedly caught with cocaine in her mouth by police ranks.
The woman pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on August 23, 2016 at Alexander Street, Kitty, Georgetown, she had in her possession 4 grams of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The prosecution’s case stated that police ranks, conducting a routine search in the Kitty area, saw the defendant acting in a suspicious manner and decided to search her.
However, before the ranks could begin their search, they witnessed Singh place a whitish substance which was hidden in a plastic, in her mouth.
The ranks immediately instructed the defendant to open her mouth thereby revealing the substance. Investigations were conducted and the defendant was arrested and subsequently charged.
The defendant was refused bail and will return to court on September 26, 2016.
