Woman chopped to death by cutlass wielding brother

The village of Moruca, North West District (NWD) was left in a state of shock and disbelief as a brother went out of control and chopped one of his sisters to death, while leaving another sister and his 8-month-old niece hospitalized.
The dead woman has been identified as 50-year-old Cynthia Cozier of Yabakabra, Mariahaba Island, Moruca, while her sister, 25-year-old Beverly France and her baby sustained chops to their bodies.
France and her baby are reportedly being treated at the Suddie Public Hospital.
Based on reports received, at about 13:00h on Wednesday, the 28-year-old suspect of unsound mind and his siblings were involved in an argument at their home. As the argument escalated, the suspect armed himself with a cutlass and attacked Cozier and France.
Cozier reportedly received most of the chops to her head and upper body. The baby that was in the room when the man carried out the brutal attack was also chopped.
After the chopping spree, the suspect made good his escape leaving the three injured in pools of blood. However, one of the sisters managed to raise an alarm and residents ran to their rescue.
The victims were rushed to Coomacka District Hospital but due to the severity of their injuries, they were referred to the Suddie Hospital, Region Two. They were admitted but Cozier succumbed at about 06:30h on Thursday morning.
France and her son’s conditions are said to be stable, while the Police are on the hunt for the suspect. Cozier’s body is at the Suddie Morgue awaiting a Post-Mortem Examination.
