A 58-year-old woman collapsed and died on Friday while attending the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court on the East Coast of Demerara, plunging proceedings there into a temporary state of confusion.
Guyana Times understands that the dead woman has been identified as Gloria Thomas, a housewife of Vigilance South, ECD.
Based on information received, Thomas had accompanied her son to the court at around 09:30h for a case the Police had brought against him. However, while waiting for the court to begin, Thomas reportedly complained of feeling unwell, and collapsed in the courtroom.
Despite efforts by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) who administered her oxygen, the woman remained unconscious, and was thus rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. (G9)
