Woman nabbed with ganja at Parika beach

– marijuana found in bus shed in another operation

Police on Friday discovered a quantity of marijuana in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) at separate locations at Parika beach, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), and Westminster, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
It was reported that ranks on mobile patrol arrested a 24-year-old woman after she was found in possession of 28.17 grams of cannabis at Parika. Police related that acting on information received, ranks went to the Parika beach, where the woman was seen on the beach.

The ranks approached the woman and requested to conduct a search on a purse she was carrying at the time. During the search, a bulky plastic bag with ganja was unearthed.
The woman, under caution, told the ranks she bought the drugs from someone at De Kinderen, WCD. She was arrested and taken to the Parika Police Station where the cannabis was weighed and amounted to 28.17 grams.
Meanwhile, on the same day at Westminster, WBD, Police said they found 40 grams of ganja hidden in a bus shed.
The ranks said acting on information received they went to an area known as “White Shop Short Cut”, Westminster, where a search was conducted.
During the search, a blue and white Ensure bottle was seen in the bus shed. Upon inspecting the content, 20 transparent Ziplock bags with cannabis were found. It was taken to the La Parfaite Harmonie Police Station where it was weighed and amounted to 40 grams.
