Woman robbed by motorbike bandit

Maria Hardat, on her way to the Public Health Ministry’s early morning Cancer Walk, was robbed by a lone bandit on a motorcycle on Sunday at about 06:30hrs.
Accompanied by a friend, she had just exited a taxi at the corner of Middle and Waterloo streets when someone riding a motorcycle approached them and tried to snatch her handbag.
Hardat attempted to run, but the biker cornered her; and dismounting his cycle, he went up to her and grabbed her handbag which reportedly contained her cellular phone and an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then hopped back onto his motorcycle and made good his escape.
Both women admitted to being too traumatized to check the cycle’s licence plate, and neither could provide any details of the cyclist’s features.
