– perpetrators crash into minibus

A robbery at Princes Street, Lodge, Georgetown on Sunday ended in a three-vehicle collision and an armed confrontation.
Bases on information received, a female was driving along Princes Street, Georgetown when two men on a motorcycle pulled up alongside her and relieved her of the gold chain she was wearing at the time.
“He snatched the chain and turned like he going by Camp Street side, anyways, the woman drove behind them and they meet up with them like in George Street there. Apparently when they see she, they get cold sweat and crashed into another car. After that, they turn like to avoid crashing and end up crashing into a minibus that was passing at the same time,” an eyewitness explained.
Based on information received, the two men fled the scene on foot leaving the motorcycle behind, but returned minutes later to retrieve the crashed bike in the company of an armed man.
“They try to move the bike, but the boys tell them no let them wait till the Police come. All of a sudden, the banna comes out of the car they come with and point a gun at the bus driver. Everybody start running ‘cause, of course, was scared for our lives,” the resident explained.
Meanwhile, Guyana Times understands that the collaborator dealt the driver several blows across his body when he held tightly to the bike.
Under the unbearable blows, the driver eventually released the motorcycle and the three men took the bike and drove off the scene.
When contacted, Assistant Commissioner Edgar Thomas related that the Police were currently retrieving Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) footage in the area with the hope of identifying and ultimately arresting the perpetrators.
