Woman stabs abusive partner to death after he threatened to chop her

A chainsaw operator was stabbed to death by his wife after he attempted to chop at their 10 Miles Port Kaituma, North West District (NWD), Region One (Barima-Waini) home. The incident reportedly took place between Thursday evening and Friday morning.
The dead man has been identified as 43-year-old Felix Henry also called “Oldie”. His 50-year-old wife, a farmer, was taken into Police custody assisting with investigations.
Based on reports received, the man’s body was found at about 9:50h on Friday lying face up in the kitchen area of the house with a stab wound to the middle of his neck. The man was clad in a blue jersey and pair of blue 3/4 pants
Police stated that preliminary investigation revealed that the woman lived in a 20-year abusive relationship.
However, reports state that between Thursday at about 17:00h, and 7:40h on Friday, the suspect and the victim were home alone imbibing when an argument broke out.
The woman claimed that during the argument, the man armed himself with a cutlass and chased her around the yard and in retaliation, she made her way into the house and collected a knife which she used to inflict one wound to his neck.
He reportedly collapsed in the kitchen area. The woman, on the other hand, went into her bed and slept. Both of them were intoxicated.
Nevertheless, when she woke up the following morning, she observed the man lying motionlessly with a stab wound to his neck. An alarm was raised and the man’s son rushed over to enquire and found his father dead. He immediately made a report at the Port Kaituma Police Station.
The man was pronounced dead at the Port Kaituma Hospital. A blood-stained brown-handled knife was recovered at the scene. The suspect subsequently admitted that it was the weapon she used to inflict the fatal wound.
