Home News Woman stabs teen after he ended relationship
An 18-year-old lad of Tabatinga Drive, Lethem, Central Rupununi was on Sunday afternoon stabbed by a 20-year-old woman with whom he had just broken up.
Police said the young woman became annoyed after the teen said he wanted to end their relationship. As such, the woman armed herself with a knife and stabbed him twice on his arms.
The victim then ran over to nearby family members who took him to the Lethem Regional Hospital, where he was treated and sent away.
The suspect remains at large. Investigations are ongoing.
Less than a week ago, a 25-year-old man identified as Mahindra Singh of Murphy Dam, West Bank Berbice (WBB), was attacked and stabbed by a man a short distance from his home.
Investigations have revealed that the victim’s wife and her sister had a heated argument last Monday over her taking her husband home to sleep, because he was highly inebriated and being a nuisance. They were attacked as they were heading home, with the suspect stabbing the victim to the right side of his chest with a broken glass bottle.
Singh collapsed and was picked up and taken to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital, where he was treated, but he was later transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital in serious condition.
