The Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCIG) has announced the appointment of seven members to serve on its Board of Directors for the year 2022-2023.
During that Chamber’s 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM), Rowena Elliot was re-elected to serve as President, with Aysha Harrop serving as Vice President, Shamela John serving as Secretary, and Alista Bishop serving as Treasurer.
The Members of the Board of Directors and the companies they represent are Rowena Elliot of Falcon Logistics Inc, A Blue Water Shipping Affiliate; Aysha Harrop of XL Engineering; Shamela John of Resysco by SJ; Alista Bishop of AX Investment and Consultants Incorporated; Anita Ramprasad of Prestige Management Consultants Incorporated; Natasha Waddle of Xpress Business Solutions; and Josephine Tapp of B&J Civil Works.
In brief remarks at the AGM, the President, Rowena Elliot, highlighted some of the accomplishments made during the year 2021-2022. Among those were the launch of the WE3A Initiative geared at strengthening women entrepreneurs in value chains, and the provision of mentorship and opportunities to women.
The Board of Directors has committed to adopting the vision of WCCIG, and pledges to continue working towards creating a business environment that fosters the growth and development of women-owned-and-led businesses, while building relationships for improvement of the membership.
