An early morning accident in the vicinity of the Diamond Diagnostic Centre has left one woman seriously injured and a young man suffering lacerations about his body.
The injured woman was identified as Donette Griffith, 38, mother of four, who resided in Kitty, Georgetown, and was employed as a dental nurse at the medical facility. Griffith reportedly suffered a fractured spine and is said to be a patient of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The young man injured, was identified as a work study student. He received minor injuries, was treated and discharged.
Reports indicate that a speeding car swerved from colliding with a Canter, resulting in the car driving over the median separating the two carriageways, and slamming into Griffith and the teenager.
