Women’s regional tournament bowls off tomorrow

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Women’s regional one-day tourney will bowl off on Thursday at various venues here. It is the first senior female tournament since the ladies won the World T20 and it is expected to be highly competitive.
It is also the first time in seven years that Guyana will host the tournament. All the teams competing have already arrived and are eager for action. The tournament is divided into the 50-Over section, which will run from July 7 to July 17 before the T20 games from July 21 to July 25.
The teams are as follows:

Guyana:
Tremayne Smartt (Captain); Akaze Thompson (Vice Captain); Melaine Henry; Latoya Smith; Shemaine Campbelle; Kavita Yadram; Shakiba Gajnabi; Heema Singh; Plaffiana Millington; Subrina Munroe; Erva Giddings; Mandy Mangru; Lashuna Toussaint; and Kaysia Shultz. The Manager is Carol Nurse and the Coach is Andre Percival.

Windward Islands:
Afy Fletcher (Captain); Akeira Peters; Holly Charles; Rackel Williams; Rosilia Registe; Krisani Irish; Qiana Joseph; Swaykine Williams; Nerissa Crafton; Roylin Cooper; Yasmine St Ange; Juliana Nero (Vice Captain); Glendeen Turtin and Stacy Ann Adams. The Manager is Eugena Gregg and the Coach is Cleton Burnette.
