Several Georgetown based schools and one from Linden attended the t World Challenge Day activates on Wednesday at the Square of the Revolution.
World Challenge Day is observed every year on May 31, and the idea is to encourage persons to get involved in some form of physical activity for 15 minutes
per day.
The students were taken through their paces by fitness instructor, Tyson English.
Director of Sport Jones said the Commission is keen on a promoting healthy lifestyle and he urged the students to spread the message of staying fit and healthy with their colleagues, family members and neighbours.
World Challenge Day was initiated in 1991 by The Association for International Sports for All (TAFISA) and it is a friendly international competition or physical activity challenge, organised within communities from around the world to compete and motivate each other to be physically active for 15 minutes daily.
The event is fun natured and is aimed at creating consciousness and passion for health and active living for all participants.
