Wortmanville woman remanded for ganja trafficking

A 27-year-old Wortmanville, Georgetown woman who was reportedly caught with two kilograms of marijuana was on Wednesday remanded to prison.
Anisha Daniels appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to charges of possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. However, when the charge was read to her, Daniels denied that she had the drug in her possession.
In an application for bail, Daniels’ attorney informed the court that she occupies the home with her grandparent and seven cousins. He noted that his client was not at home when the illegal substance was found. However, the attorney’s submissions were overruled and Daniels was remanded to prison. The case will continue on March 21.
