During the finals weekend of the annual Enterprise Sports Club’s Busta T20 Festival which was played last Sunday at the Enterprise Community Centre Cricket Club ground, Kamesh and Bhaskar Yadram presented a quantity of cricket gears to the recently re-established Lusignan East Strikers Cricket Club.
The East Strikers comprising of seven players below the age of 19-years old finished a credibly fourth in the 16-team annual tournament which ended on Sunday November 5 with home team Enterprise Busta “A” being crowned champions.

After the tournament’s second semi-final on Saturday afternoon which Enterprise “A” won by the wide margin of 160 runs, the Yadram brothers presented a bag, a bat, a pair of batting pads and two helmets to the young East Strikers club of Lusignan, East Coast of Demerara (ECD).
East Strikers recently began playing competitive cricket and made it to the final of the ECD U-19 tournament but lost to established team, Buxton U-19. They also featured in the recent ECD second division competitions with good enough returns that enabled them to make their first division debut in the Busta Championship.
With the kind assistance, captain of East Strikers Hiradeo Jailal said that the club will continue to improve on the field while giving the youths a reason to stay off the streets. Jailal, said that they are extremely thankful for the gifts and the opportunity to play in the tournament while wishing the Yadrams, who grew up at the Enterprise Sports Club, best of luck in their future endeavours.
Seventeen year-old Bhaskar is a member of the West Indies U-19 World Cup squad that are preparing to defend their title next year and has played two Regional First Class Four Day games for the Guyana Jaguars this year. His older brother, Kamesh played at the youth level for Guyana and also professionally in Trinidad and Tobago and is the captain of the East Coast Demerara franchise team in the Cricket Guyana Jaguars semi-professional league. Their sister Kavita also represented the Golden Arrowhead at Regional cricket.
