This edition of the directory was revealed on Thursday at the Pegasus Hotel. It exhibits the winning photo of the Click the Cover competition on its cover page. The entry was submitted by an employee of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC), Simon Alvaro, who captured the photo along his journey from the Upper Mazaruni area to Kamarang.
Senior General Manager of Sales, Keith Rowley of Yellow gave an insight on the transitions that were made in the past by the organisation in his feature address. Recently, the name of the entity was changed from Yellow Pages to Yellow, to facilitate the other services that were introduced to the public.
“Last year, we embarked upon a major milestone with the transformation from Yellow Pages to Yello. This transformation symbolises the inward and outward evolution of our company from more than just a director business to a full service media industry,” Rowley stated.
Along with the rebranding, the services were expanded to provide search engine marketing, website development, social media management and advertising.
At the brief ceremony, President of the Guyana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Deodat Indar also shared his remarks on behalf of the business community.
“Guyana is poised to take off; something that I term as an economic explosion. I would like to see that explosion and economic prosperity transfer into businesses and businesses transfer that into the hands of their employees and their employees take that home to take care of their children.”
Yello Media exists in 20 markets and provides employment for 12 Guyanese at its company. It is also the only premier Google partner in the region and is recognised as one of the top five successful companies in mobile marketing.
