Young cricketer benefits from President Ali’s gear initiative

…Meets cricket idol Kevin Sinclair

Aspiring cricketer, 12-year-old Darious Pompey, who hails from Recht Door Zee, West Bank Demerara (WBD) enjoyed a special moment earlier this week, when he received his brand-new cricket kit from his cricket idol, West Indian all- rounder Kevin Sinclair.
The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) made special arrangements for the gears to be handed over by Sinclair at their Regent Road, Bourda, Georgetown office, owing to the fact that Pompey was unable to attend His Excellency, President Dr Irfaan Ali’s massive cricket gears distribution initiative, a few weekend ago.

This presentation follows an earlier initiative by His Excellency Irfaan Ali to provide cricket gear to young talents across the country which benefitted over 450 young players who gathered at the Arthur Chung Conference Center (ACCC), Liliendaal for the exercise.
Pompey extended his heartfelt thanks to President Ali for his continuous support and encouragement. The youngster’s journey in cricket is now set to reach new heights with this generous gift, inspiring him to chase his dreams with even greater determination.
