Dead is 22-year-old Althea Walton, also known as Stacy, of Alexander Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
Up to press time, police have not released any information on the incident. The parents of the now-dead woman refused to provide information about the young lady to the media.
However, this publication understands that the woman had gone to the Corentyne to drop off a package and was on her way back when the incident occurred.
Her boyfriend was reportedly driving another car a short distance away when the incident occurred.
Reports say that it was the boyfriend, who is known to the police, who pulled the mother of one out of the car.
The couple had been living together for more than a year, but Walton moved out four months ago to live with a sister. During this time, the couple stayed in close contact, and three weeks ago, she moved from East Canje to live with a female friend in Alexander Street.
