Minister within the Public Infrastructure Ministry, Annette Ferguson, was the guest speaker at the launch of First Lady Sandra Granger’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) training programme in Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo) on August 10.

conducted at the St Ignatius Secondary School. The duration of the programme is four weeks and caters for school dropouts as well as children in school. It will provide them with skills in Information Technology, literacy and numeracy, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) among others.
In her feature address, Ferguson told over 30 participants, “When you would have finished this programme, I would like you to return to your communities and educate your fellow youths.” She further added, “young people rock the world.” She also applauded the First Lady’s initiative.
The Minister noted with exposure to programmes such as these, the youths can save their finances and work towards becoming entrepreneurs with their own businesses, providing employment for others.
