Young Warriors A defeat Guymine to advance to final

The Young Warriors ‘A’ side of East Canje Berbice defeated Guymine by nine wickets in a match played at the Warriors ground to advance to the final of the Berbice Cricket Board’s Friends of New Amsterdam 100 balls cricket tournament.
Batting first, Guymine were bowled out for 65 from their allotted 100 balls, with C. Grimmond top scoring with 32, and no other batsman reaching double figures.
Bowling for the Young Warriors ‘A’ side, J. Henry took 4 wickets for 8 runs from 3.4 overs and Ricardo Ramdehol took 2 for 19 from 3 overs; while Sudesh Dhanai, Kassim Khan and Amir Khan each took a wicket, for 14, 8 and 15 runs respectively.

The home team, in reply, raced to 66 for 1 in only 7.2 overs, with former national under-19 player Alex Algoo being unbeaten on 34.
Mortimer Fraser was the only batsman to be dismissed — for 05 runs, by C. Hope — while national youth player Ricardo Ramdehol was on 17 not out when victory was achieved. Hope ended with 1 for 18 from 2 overs.
These cricketing giants of East Canje will now await the outcome of the match involving their ‘B’ counterparts playing against Flying Stars CC of East Bank Berbice to know against whom they will play in the final match of this tournament.
