Your vote for democracy on March 2, 2020

Dear Editor,
The PPP/C is the only political party in Guyana which has and can restore and maintain democracy within our society. This was done in 1992-2015 and this team will continue to fight for one’s democratic right far and beyond. Therefore, we must come out in our numbers and vote on March 2, 2020, for “democracy”, the rule of law.
The PNC team is running scared since December 2018, when the “No-Confidence Motion” was successfully passed and they have strived for survival on their mathematical belief that 34 is half of 65 and are stuck to their only way of governing through the “rule by law”.
Their “rule by law” tactics are as follow: –
– Total disregard for our Constitution and total disregard to the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) ruling on NCM.
– Unconstitutional Appointment of GECOM’s Chair.
– Unconstitutional House-to-House Registration.
– Unconstitutional attempts to remove qualified voters from the voters’ list.
– Unconstitutional attempts to reduce Polling Stations only in PPP/ C strongholds to frustrate voters.
– Unconstitutional plans in progress to remove the NCM law from books and to stifle accountability and one’s democratic right. More so there are threats if you do speak up, your citizenship will be revoked.
One must conclude that PNC knowledge is put into practice only with the little they know best, power at any cost.
The younger voting population who heard about the old PNC practices in the ’60s unto the early ’90s is now getting a glimpse of the history and rule by law tactics associated with the PNC. Can we place such tragedies for all Guyanese in the 20th century, an authoritarian leadership? Do we have to attain the age of 70 and beyond before we can get a decent job?
Let us vote for the rule of law to prevail! Let us vote for a democratic society! Statistically, the numbers speak of PPP/C victory! Together, we can make this happen with your vote for the PPP/C on March 2, 2020.

Sincerely,
Praim Persaud
