Being just 17-years-old when he was indicted on a murder charge, now 21, Linden Williams on Tuesday appeared at the Demerara High Court with no intention of wasting the court’s time, thus pleading to a lesser count of manslaughter before Justice Navindra Singh.

Williams also called “Serpy”, opted to make a guilty plea to the indictment which stated that on January 1, 2015, he unlawfully killed Sydney Earl Campbell.
The accused was represented by Attorney-at-Law Dexter Todd, who in a mitigation plea to the court stated that Williams was a juvenile when he was charged for murder, while further stating that the young man is now a certified welder and a member of the Prisoners’ steel pan band and is recognised as one of the many talented persons who are incarcerated.
