Youth stabs stepfather who was abusing mother

The Police are on the hunt for a 23-year-old man who reportedly stabbed his stepfather who was allegedly verbally abusing his mother in the wee hours of Monday. The injured man has been identified as 33-year-old Danei Chacon, a Venezuelan national of Bent Street, Georgetown.
According to information received, the now injured man and his reputed wife had a misunderstanding, which ultimately led to an argument.
The woman’s son who resides at the same address then arrived at home and overheard the man and his mother arguing. As such, he intervened and a scuffle ensued between him and his stepfather, during which he armed himself with a knife and stabbed the older man.
After committing the act, he reportedly fled the scene. The injured man was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was admitted. His condition is regarded as stable. The Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect.
Meanwhile, in another incident, 24-year-old Cassell Nurse of Freeman Street, East La Penitence, Georgetown, was reportedly hit in the head with an unknown object while attending a barbeque at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown on Sunday evening.
Police stated that about 21:15h, Nurse was attending the barbeque when two men who are unknown to him pelted a glass bottle at him. In addition, he was dealt one blow to the forehead with an unknown object.
As a result of the attack, Nurse sustained injuries to his forehead and left elbow. After receiving the injuries, the victim reportedly ran to his motor car and drove to a private medical institution where he was examined, treated, and sent away.
A Police report was made and the suspects are being sought as investigations ongoing.
