Yusuf stars for Fishermen XI in win over Better Hope

Uniss Yusuf had a good catch for Fisherman’s XI against Better Hope on Sunday when the Better Hope Community SC centre hosted a feature T20 softball fixture.

Yusuf struck a scintillating 109 as Fisherman’s XI totaled 209-4, batting first after the game was reduced to 15 overs due to rain. Openers Ramo Malone and Kennard Luke set the tone with 47 for the first wicket before Malone was caught behind off Satro Seeraj for 12. Luke then shared in a second wicket stand of 38 with Yusuf.
Following Luke’s demise for 47; Yusuf proceeded to dominate the opposition attack as he blasted five fours and nine sixes before being caught off the last ball of the innings. Seeraj finished with 1-23.
Better Hope innings was shattered early as they lost three quick wickets, but Manoj Arjune and Seeraj steadied the innings in a fourth-wicket stand of 65. Arjune struck four fours in a top score of 47 while Seeraj hit two boundaries before he fell for 27.
Subsequent to their departure, Better Hope slumped further and were bowled out for 141 in 11.3 overs. Extras contributed 21.
Troy Ramsaywak picked up a hat trick to finish with 3-0 while Yusuf returned with the ball to snare 2-10 and the Man-of-the-Match prize.
