A miner was on Thursday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan after being charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Steve Caesar, 26, of 12 Epson, Corentyne, Berbice, pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
The particulars of the charge stated that on June 12, at A North West District, Region One (Barima-Waini), he had in his possession 453 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones told the court the analyst report for the matter is still outstanding.
Caesar who was unrepresented, was remanded to prison and will make his next court appearance on August 2, at the Matthews Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
