1 dead, 1 critical in 2-vehicle collision in Essequibo
A father of one was on Sunday evening killed following a two-vehicle collision along the Lima Public Road, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam). The accident occurred at about 19:30h.
The dead man has been identified as 23-year-old Jamol Granville called “Juju” of Henrietta, Essequibo Coast.
According to reports reaching Guyana Times, Granville was driving a motor car bearing registration number PYY 4645, and was negotiating a turn when he crashed head-on into a canter, GVV 8523, that was proceeding in the opposite direction.
As a result of the impact, Granville was reportedly pinned in the car and died instantly.
Firefighters were called to the scene to assist in removing Granville’s body from the wreckage. His body was transported to the Suddie Public Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.
Meanwhile, this newspaper was told that the driver of the canter was also rushed to the Suddie Hospital and is in a critical state.
