One man is dead while another is seriously injured after the car in which they were travelling slammed into a cow on the East Coast Demerara (ECD) Highway on Tuesday evening.
The dead man has been identified as Kelron Benjamin of Beterverwagting, ECD, while the identity of the injured man was unknown up to press time.
Based on reports received, the motor car was heading East along the Lusignan Public Road, ECD, when it collided with a cow that was making its way across the road.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the car reportedly lost control and crashed into the median. Benjamin reportedly died on the spot while the front seat passenger sustained severe head injuries.
He was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was admitted.
