1 injured after minibus slams into parked vehicle

One woman was rendered seriously injured after the minibus in which she was travelling crashed into a parked vehicle in the vicinity of Duncan and Sheriff Streets, Georgetown before ending up in a nearby trench.

According to information received, the accident occurred around 16:00h on Wednesday as a Route 48 minibus bearing registration number BXX 7683 was in the process of overtaking a truck when the driver lost control and ended crashing into a parked motor car with registration plates PPP 983.
As a result of the collision, both vehicles ended up in a trench.
At the time of the accident, the minibus was reportedly carrying six passengers.
It was only last week, Sabita Sukhoo, 20, of 123 Lusignan Pasture, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was killed while three others were injured following a two-vehicle collision along the Rupert Craig Highway.
The injured were listed as Sukhoo’s mother, 44-year-old Anita Ramjit of Lusignan, ECD; 44-year-old Marlyn Wilson of Lot 10 Golden Grove, ECD, and 45-year-old Mohan Mangal of Lot 273 Block 12, Nonpareil, ECD.
