An investigation is underway following a collision involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of Conversation Tree Road and Railway Embankment, Blygezight, Georgetown, on Monday.
Police stated that a motor jeep, PAD 3891, which was at the time being driven by a member of the Guyana Fire Service (GFS), was proceeding south along Conversation Tree Public Road, and as it approached the intersection with the traffic light on red, the driver allegedly overtook two stationary vehicles and proceeded into the intersection.

At this point, it collided with motor car PAG 3236, which was proceeding along Railway Embankment Road with the traffic light reportedly signalling green in its direction. As a result of the collision, the jeep reportedly lost control.
PAG 3236 continued forward and collided with three other vehicles with registration numbers PGG 9135, PAN 4053, and PAB 2512 that were all parked along Blygezight Public Road.
The driver of motor car PGG 9135, a 28-year-old male from Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD), sustained injuries to his body.
He was transported to Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was treated and discharged with a fractured right shoulder and lacerations to his face. Breathalyser tests conducted on the drivers involved came back negative.
